Koehler Books made up seven possible covers for Lethal Injection, from which I was asked to select two for a “cover poll.” They put the two selected covers up on their web site and let people vote. Here’s what it looked like.
The cover on the left won 2-to-1. It’s a little over-the-top (or maybe a lot?), but then the book itself is a tiny, little bit over-the-top (or maybe a lot), so at least the reader is warned. I think the cover on the right is fine and some people much preferred it. To me, it’s a bit predictable and definitely more traditional. On the other hand, some people apparently think syringes are scary.
